Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours of concern and improving quality of life. Rather than focusing solely on reducing behaviour, PBS addresses the physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of the person to reduce the need to use behaviour as communication.

Amity Behaviour Consulting is based in the Moreton Bay region of Queensland. Clinical supervision and training are available Australia-wide via telehealth and online delivery.
Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision at Amity is designed for behaviour support practitioners at all levels, including those working toward BCBA or CBA accreditation. Whether new to the NDIS PBS framework or an experienced clinician seeking reflective practice support, supervision is tailored to individual needs.

Yes. Clinical supervision is delivered via Microsoft Teams and is available to practitioners across Australia, with a comprehensive understanding of all state-based systems and legislation.

Amity draws from four evidence-based frameworks: Reflective Practice, Resilience-Based Clinical Supervision (RBCS), Solutions-Focused Clinical Supervision, and a Developmental Approach. Each session is tailored to the individual practitioner's experience level and needs.

Supervision begins with a free 30-minute consultation to ensure the right fit. Sessions are delivered online via Microsoft Teams and are flexible and responsive, adapting to the practitioner's needs at the time.

Yes. Supervision at Amity can include review and sign-off of Positive Behaviour Support Plans for Entry and Core level behaviour support practitioners.
Training & Education

Amity offers a range of training and professional development in areas including trauma-informed PBS, restrictive practices, neuro-affirming behaviour analysis, PBS in schools, and PBS 101 for allied health and support workers. Bespoke training packages are also available for organisations.

Training is available for behaviour support practitioners, schools and teachers, allied health professionals, support workers, and parents. Sessions are available online and in person.

Amity is working toward offering neuro-affirming ABA continuing education units (CEUs) and professional development units (PDUs) for BCBAs and CBAs. These will focus on compassionate, person-centred practice rather than traditional compliance-based methods. Sign up to be notified when these become available.
Consultation

Consultation involves an independent audit of current practices, identification of gaps in policies and procedures, and tailored support to implement meaningful, sustainable improvements. It is available for PBS companies, NDIS service providers, and schools.

Yes. Amity provides school-wide behaviour support consultation, including review of current practices, support to improve PBS models, and training for teaching staff. This is a more ongoing support process rather than a one-off engagement.

Specialist Behaviour Support at Amity is currently closed to new clients. Services are available in the Moreton Bay region. Please get in touch to be added to the waitlist.

A Baseline Behaviour Assessment and Report is completed for NDIS participants who do not yet have behaviour support funding allocated in their plan. Using Improved Daily Living funding, the report outlines behaviours of concern, associated risks, and a recommendation for behaviour support funding to be added to the plan.
On Demand Training

Amity currently has three courses in development: Pathological Demand Avoidance, Preventing and Recovering from Practitioner Burnout, and Restrictive Practices for Allied Health. Each course is self-paced and includes all related resources upon sign-up.
